This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

What do you consider is the most fun dungeon exploring boardgame? Is it:

  • Talisman (new edition)
  • Dungeoneer
  • Dungeon Twister
  • Other?

I am looking for a diversion from our normal rpg session that takes no more than 2 hours to play.

Thanks!

You might try heroscape; it's not a dungeon exploring boardgame, but it's what we play when we want a break. It takes about 1.5-2.5 hours to play. It is a lot of fun.

Dang, my favorite fantasy boardgame is Magic Realm.  It takes two hours to set up, though...some really dedicated fans have made a computerized version called RealmSpeak that's an incredibly good tool for learning the game, however...but not what you're looking for here.
For fuck\'s sake, these are games, people.

And no one gives a fuck about your ignore list.

HeroQuest (Milton Bradley) is THE dungeon boardgame. Not cheap in its time, probably not cheap now.

Dungeoneer does look good.

Ditto. And, yes, two hours is basically the setup time, so sorry.

Descent, Runebound, and some of those other FFG thingies look cool, but I've never taken the plunge.

Unless that new edition of Talisman is significantly different from the earlier ones, this isn't something that you can count on: the game can drag on for a very, very long time.

I love divine right, I read that a new edition was coming out this summer, but I haven't seen sign of it.

Chalk up another fan of Magic Realm... one of the coolest games ever made.

Heroquest was fun back in the day, although I haven't played it in at least 10 years.

My suggestion is to turn your monopoly board upside down and use it to hold the two decks for a rousing game of Munchkin Fu.
