Here's a question: A billion years hence, will Dick Cheney still be Dick Cheney? What will change as he is cloned, turned into a cyborg, or has his stored personality file made publicly accessible entertainment via the internet?

From the title of the thread I thought it was either going to be about a sex orgy in a far future setting or maybe a "Jerk" in a space setting.

 Real world , currnt modern political figures aren't really that cool or funny in an RPG.
Its like one of those jokes that a writer thinks is really funny at the typewriter - but when a comedian tells it out loud it just bombs.

Actually, I did not originally intend the plotline for humor. I honestly thought that at some point people might actually start recording the personalities of important figures for historical posterity, and thought that certain personalities regaining volition could become problematic. It didn't and doesn't have to be Dick Cheney specifically. It could just as easily be, say, Kim Jong Il's grandson, or what have you. It just seemed to me that, barring the technology gap, if anyone's got it in them to escape these archives, it's the dude that should already have died eight bypasses ago.

 It might be funny to visit his homeworld as a "revenge" motif.

Well, Kim Jong Il _is_ too strange to be true. If a current Bond writer would come up with stuff like that, he'd be fired.
