Greetings!
This is a dramatic documentary by Paul Cooper. The program is certainly an extended watch--though I think it is absolutely riveting, entertaining, and educational, every step of the way. Spiritual beliefs, folklore, history, politics, arms, equipment, training, culture, and also personal drama, family squabbles, trauma, and fighting. Romance, loyalty, commitment, --and revenge. It is all here. I watched the program in one four-hour block, and finished the last two hours the next day. Really fantastic scholarship presented here throughout the program.
Gaming-wise, well, there is an absolute treasure trove here of different details and sources of inspiration for a DM wanting to develop steppe culture for their own game campaign, as well as some ideas for NPC's, modelling your own Player Character by using certain traits, events, and motivations, as well as adventures, political elements, warfare, and so much more!
I hope that you all enjoy this program so much! I certainly love this program. Paul Cooper does a fantastic historical series that covers many different historical civilizations. I have enjoyed all of his programs.

Some of the Fall of Civilization podcast is great. Some of it can be used to cure insomnia. I've been eyeballing the Mongols episode for a while now, but even at double speed with captions, I don't know when I'm going to be able to set aside that kind of time.
The one on Roman Britain was really captivating. As was the one on the fall of Byzantium/Constantinople.
Greetings!
Yeah, Heavy Josh! I love the Fall of Civilizations" program. This episode here about the Mongols is an absolute treasure! I have also enjoyed the episode about Roman Britain, the Han Chinese, the Carthaginians, and more. But yes, I've seen a few that were not as interesting as the others, for sure. *Laughing*
Overall, though, Paul Cooper does a fantastic job, and the programs are entertaining, interesting, and well worthwhile. I also gain ideas and inspiration for developing my game world, and developing NPC's, and adventures!
