A whole ago, I ran a game of agone. We met each week for  an entire year, and I had (with the help of Google translate) put together a few rough translation s of bestiary entries and advantage lists I had found from PDFs of the untranslated french books. We had a lot if fun during that game. Many fond memories of battles with sapeshifting draken and a ship with Morgana pirates.

Not to long ago, my laptop crashed, and I lost all my notes on the translations I made.

I was wondering if there is anyone still interested enough in this game enough that they would be interested in translating the remaining untranslated books, or if anyone has done so already.

It would be nice to pool our resources together and maybe dig up all of the gems hidden away in the books we never got in English (and the Souffre-Jour stuff is also pretty sweet).

Otherwise, what are your thought on this game? According to the forum on Souffre-Jour, they are at a standstill on acquiring the rights to do an Agone 2 (and have been for at least 7 years). But if they ever manage to put out a second edition I would be so ready to drop some money on it.

Not familar with the game. Is it French? Seem like there are loads of French and German RPGs. I wonder how many gems are hidden from English language RPGers.

I've never gotten to play it, but I have everything that was released in English. Even with the large amounts of hopelessness and the occasional bit that goes beyond suspension of disbelief into outright ridiculousness(the birth rate of Giants, for example), I still really, really want to try it out someday. The setting is one of the most evocative I've ever seen, and more than balances out the bits that perhaps could have been thought through more than they were. It was just really fun reading.

I also have the French game and a number of French supplements even though I don't know much French. I planned on learning more, but mental health issues make tasks like that incredibly difficult. So now I've got the following books on my shelf in a language I may never be able to read:

Notes:
1 - I have the first printing of the main book, copyright 1999, even though I specifically asked my contact in France who was helping me get these for the 2nd printing, copyright 2001. I didn't know at the time that there was a third printing, copyright 2004, which was apparently the only thing UbIK was able to get out before getting stuck in licensing hell.
2 - Also, my French-language screen is just the screen. The English version came with a map. Does anyone know if the French version was supposed to as well? I don't really need another map, but I'm just curious.

Yes, I want to play it sometime.
No, I don't know much about the system, or even if it's any good. I read mostly the setting bits since I didn't think I'd ever find enough people to play it with anyway.
And yes, in spite of the fact that it makes no sense, I would like to get the other French language products I'm missing. I know it would be exorbitantly expensive, but if I could find one of the limited edition "Les Codex Des Saisonins" that contains all 9 32-page booklets of the various non-Autumn seasonlings -- limited as in only 200 ever produced -- at a price I could afford, it would be the crown jewel of my collection.
