Some other forum a year or two ago I got asked this - How my version of the TRAVELLER universe differered from others.

Guess this would make it Ed's  TRAVELLER Universe -or- In Koltar's TRAVELLER Universe. (EdTU and IKTU)

 First off the only "canon" books in my version are Classic TRAVELLER  and GURPS:TRAVELLER. (No Virus, No assassination, No Rebelion, No "TNE" or MEGA-stuffiness)

 My definition of "classic" TRAVELLER is all the JTAS run up until it changed into CHALLENGE magazine - after that it doesn't count in my universe.

 Parts of the Spinward Marches are still "Frontier-like" - mainly in the rimward parts of District 268 and the Five Sisters subsecters. Plus, the Outrim Void is still a bit mysterious in my version of things.

One minor feature of my Third Imperium society and culture : There is a Courtesan's Guild and they have rules and protocols. Think of almost a 50/50 blend of the Companions on "Firefly" and the courtesans of Venice as shown in the movie "Dangerous Beauty".  For one of my game sessions Archduke Norris had a Courtesan as his guest at a state dinner and dance. This particular courtesan had just been a passenger onboard the adventuring party's Empress Marava class freighter.

Otherwise I try to run it pretty close to the established TRAVELLER universe.
