This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Part of me wants to say Crimson Skies, just to have models and maps.  8) Maybe Fantasy Flight X-Wing cardboard paths for distance and turning radius so someone can use their model kit helicopters.  :D And then we can bust out our Zvezda and Tamiya model 'copters and mouth the onomonopoeia noises like we're 5 years old again! "Whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop... Vulcan cannon safety released... Fire!... pew pew pew pew!"  8)

:) Perhaps this is not the most mature take on emulating Airwolf at the table. However I can live with that.  ;D
Just make your fuckin\' guy and roll the dice, you pricks. Focus on what\'s interesting, not what gives you the biggest randomly generated virtual penis.  -- J Arcane

You know, people keep comparing non-TSR D&D to deck-building in Magic: the Gathering. But maybe it\'s more like Katamari Damacy. You keep sticking shit on your characters until they are big enough to be a star.

Really depends on which season of Airwolf you're talking about.

Definitely the earlier seasons.

If we're going this route, wouldn't Battletech be better?  It already has solid helicopter rules and helicopters that could definitely be drop ins.  It already has an attached RP system that wouldn't be too hard to convert by simply stripping it down.

Huh, it has been a long time since I used rotorcraft in BTech, but I seem to recall that they were extremely fragile and not suitable for 'hero' vehicles.  Can anyone confirm that?

Yes, but...

1. That was in scale to advanced super armored giant robots with massive high tech bleeding edge space guns.

2. They were fast enough that they could speed tank almost everything.  Angular velocity on some of the smaller ones was so high it was impossible for just about anything to hit them.

3. If we are home brewing this, we're allow to tweak the stats how we like.

Good point, speed is life in BattleTech for light units.
