Wow.  That's one of the most hideous screenshots I've seen in a long time.  It looks like a bad Poser model.  I've seen better looking shite out of EQ2 and Vanguard.

It's off the Stats page, which puts the entire background into a sort of parchment colour and brings the character to the fore with the stats on the left side.
I had to use it as it was raining at the time and the ambient light was terrible no matter which way I faced her.
I forgot to say thats not a Glass Sheild either, its an in game unique based off the Ebony Sheild from the Heavy Armour set.

The shot was really just to show the armour and the character. If you want to have a Oblivion-versus-WoW graphical dick waving contest, I can turn on the HDR lighting and take a pic from Gnoll Mountain looking across Imperial City or something if you like?

Dude, you're the one who started the derail with your idiotic comment about Oblivion.  The fact that your picture just makes your snobbery laughable was extra gravy I couldn't help but comment on.

Art direction beats technical detail.  Every time.  Oblivion is just stock "next-gen graphics", lots of brown, complete overuse of HDR, and Poser art.  

There are places in WoW far more beautiful than anything in Oblivions acres of the same castle ruins, trees, and Oblivion gates.  And yet on a technical level, you are right in pointing out that the engine is not as powerful.  What you miss is that it's irrelevant, both in the sense that WoW manages to create far more beutiful virtual spaces than anything in Oblivion through good art direction, and that in both cases, neither one of them have a goddamn thing to do with the actual gameplay.

I was merely commenting that the art in Oblivion is more realistic looking that the stuff from WoW. My pic was for comparison, and just because I happened to take a screenshot the other day to show someone else and had it handy.
