This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: trechriron;1131941I support Black Lives Matters. I don't care if one bad apple was found in the bunch, there's a pile of bad apples in the Police. Are all police bad now that there are bad police? Nope. Are all priests bad because there are bad priests? Nope.

I support Black Lives Matters because I'm angry at the treatment of black people in America. It's not complicated.

Right on mate.

Quote from: Ghostmaker;1132136All I gotta say is, the same retards who scream 'abolish the police' and 'ACAB' are the same kind of people who will scream for protection when someone robs them blind.

We're already seeing that on Twitter.

"This kind of violence and property damage is unfortunate, but if it gets voices hea- No wait! Don't burn down MY home and local businesses! AHHH POLICE STOP THESE VIOLENT THUGS!" If one of these people actually has their livelihood destroyed and sticks to their message of it being a 'unfortunate but necessary casualty to spread the message' then fair game, but everybody knows the people preaching that kind of thing are by enlarge living comfortable in their gated ivory towers and would likely up and move promptly if too many people of a darker skin pigment began moving in.

"Mate". Funny how everyone who lives in other countries is an expert on what it's really like in the U.S.!
Old School? Back in my day we just called it "School."

Or even blatantly supporting riots, so long as they're not in their own neighborhood, like ESPN's Chris Palmer in these tweets 3 days apart

LOL Irony? The US shoves its dick everywhere it can, and they know everything about everything, according to them.

Mind you 'mate', if your Police behaved in a professional manner, this shit show wouldn't be happening. Under trained overpowered thugs.

ps - not all cops are wankers of course. Just the shite ones we see in the media who are behaving like scum. Fuck those pigs.

I forgot to mention, I think it's a also a bad move to support BLM because it's a unstable group that's now indirectly linked to riots, murder, and violence. If tomorrow president Trump labels the BLM movement a domestic threat then what? I'd never associate my games to BLM with donations. I just want the looting and arson to stop, let the army move in if necessary.

And if they think that sucks, wait till they find out that the police have no obligation to protect the individual, OR keep the peace.

(The former is already settled law. The latter? Well, hard to say. But the Raleigh police chief straight up said she wouldn't deploy police to turn back rioters.)

Is it an opt in thing or do they just select people's stuff to be part of it?  Like could a publisher say "no thanks"?

DocJones

DTRPG isn't a brick and mortar book store so there is little danger of them being burned down like the two book stores in Minnesota.
This BLM ("supposed charity") they are going to support has a very specific demand, defund the police.
IMHO, clearly this is NOT a charity.  I know of no charity that has a dangerous goal such as defunding law enforcement.  Frankly it's insane.  DTRPG should be ashamed.

Why would they be ashamed of displaying the virtues of the day? The more prominently the better? Far easier than having the courage to stand for what is right rather than what is popular, or even remaining silent and just, oh, selling books, maybe?

BLM is a communist sock puppet.

Was wondering that as well. At a guess. Probably no. Or if you requested it they'd just blacklist you.

A publisher doesn't have but so much say in what a store does with their profits.  As long as DTRPG isn't "donating" the publisher's cut too, then it's their money to do with as they please.  Of course, publishers have every right not to do business with storefronts who they feel are supporting a reprehensible group, so a publisher could simply stop selling their items through DTRPG if they chose, but other than that they really have no input.

Yes, it's opt-in, although it sounds like they're expecting a heavy response since they're limiting it to 'one item per publisher, please.'
