This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Don't feel bad about being a fatbeard...

He is just Kevin Siembieda and David Hargrave with more attitude. Same tradition of gaming, but produced in an age when it was not socially acceptable anymore. That's my perspective and I am sticking to it.

I don't know about that.  Siembieda and Hargrave both fall into the "a little nuts" category; but neither of them produced a game that was utterly unplayable.  Its not just a question of years that makes the difference: I can still take Palladium Fantasy or Arduin and actually PLAY it.  Whereas Synnibar is broken unplayable crap, because its just mindless ridiculous power-mongering.

Piffle.  World of Synnibarr is simply HackMaster-style "gaming should be hard work" minus the intentionally funny bits plus a more Gamma Worldish setting.  I'd GM World of Synnibarr before trying Nobilis again.  I'd GM Synnibarr rather than 1st edition Exalted.  I don't know enough about the 2nd edition to really judge it.

Well, yeah, sure... I probably would too.  I'd also probably gnaw off my own ankle rather than die of thirst, but I would really rather do neither of the two.
