This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Tell us about a (solar or lunar or other) Eclipse in your games?

As apparently the Solar Eclipse Apocalypse is upon us, let's share how we've used an eclipse (of any sort) in our games - whether it be fantasy, scifi or horror!

Was there a famous Warhammer adventure featuring an eclipse with the Goblin Moon? Or am I just remembering some home campaign from the ancient times?

I played in an interesting Call of Cthulhu adventure at a convention years ago and our heroic band of investigators totally screwed the pooch on the adventure. The plot was an "unscheduled" eclipse was about to happen and THE PLACE to see it best was this small quaint town in New England. Astronomers were baffled by the timetable so Miskatonic University's Astrophysics department sent out some truly disposable interns and grad students (aka, we heroes) to investigate.

After botching the investigation, half of us decided to bolt from the town before the eclipse and half of us decided to stay and see what was so spectacular about this unusual event and all the strange behavior and hype around it.

Of course, we were turned to a crisp AND our souls devoured as whatever Mythos being broke free from its solar cage within our sun and focused its life draining firelight upon our wee town.

So, what have you done with solar eclipses?
