Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). Quote from: Christopher Brady;926209I wonder how adaptable it would for Scarlet Heroes...

Over at rpg.net, Skywalker said it was sandboxy and he was planning to run with standard D&D first, then running it again with Godbound. If it can handle play at both those levels, I would imagine it would work with Scarlet Heroes.

I don't know shit about Scarlet Heroes, but the adventure basically gives you a town and a number of characters, plus four important NPCs with some ideas as to what each may be trying to achieve. If should be pretty easy to adapt to pretty much anything you want.

Well, then, it's on the List.

It would totally work for Scarlet Heroes. It has a strong wuxia vibe that could be ported to other settings with that vibe.

Just ran the second session of my Exalted game using Godbound and it went marvellously.

The scenario generated using Sixteen Sorrows and the Court and Ruin generators really handled the power of the PCs and posed complex and interesting questions. The system was fast, supportive of Exalted shenanigans, and filled with moments of uberpowered delight.

The scenario ended with the players deciding to resolve the bigger issues in downtime with Dominion and Influence, which seemed just about perfect. They have the power of Gods yet they can't bring it to bear as they couldn't agree. They will no doubt make matters worse as they pursue their own agendas in partial opposition to each other :)

Out of curiosity, are any of the provided NPCs Godbound?

Nope.

Thanks. Whether or not to include NPC Godbound is going to be something that I muddle over long and hard if I ever settle down, man up and decide to run a game. I see the pros and cons to not both using and not using them. For one, something that started to annoy me and some of my players about Exalted was their decreasing uniqueness, the growing number and types that stretched both the definition of "Exalt" and narrowed thematic space available.

One issue with Exalted that it is hard to field challenging NPCs that aren't Exalted due to the mechanics. We have found this less of an issue using Godbound for Exalted as the ruleset is less stringent and has greater flexibility over other NPC types. on saying that we field Exalted NPCs with the Godbound rules too and it's fine.

In fact, the simplicity of the system whilst still providing a decent level of variety and verisimilitude has been a real highlight as we can embrace any conflict that arises without being afraid to have to interact with the rules.

Skywalker

I can't see us ever going back to Exalted. We recently printed a 108 page setting guide using Exalted 3e's first two chapters and a 126 page players handbook rearranging the relevant Godbound rules, and integrating a couple of extra pages for tweaks and such, so that it's all in more user friendly order. When combined with the excellent GM tools like the bestiary, faction rules, and the random scenario generators, the session played out fantastically :)

Can that players guide be downloaded?

No, sorry. It's just certain pages from the Deluxe Godbound book rearranged, with a page of tweaks for Exalted and an additional Strife to mimic Wood Dragon MA. I am happy to share the tweaks or page order if those are helpful.
