This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

No discussion of the Zak S drama yet?

Quote from: Azraele;1074374I think most of us are in essentially the same camp we were in before this latest turd hit the fan.

"I like some of his stuff, because it's good, but I don't care for him personally"

How is Mandy and Zak's personal life a matter of debate for people who buy his books? Seriously, why would you care? I'm not burning my copy of maze of the blue medusa over this. You know what it changes for me? I unfollwed Zak on twitter, because I'd unfollow anybody given the content of Mandy's post. Also, since I think people should make up their OWN minds about who to believe and how to deal with this, I shared her post for the benefit of my few fans. If I hadn't gone on public record talking about how much I was a fan of his, I wouldn't have (not that I'd need to, clearly).

Bam, drama over.
100% agreed. The reactions and all the virtue signaling under his kickstarter make me sick. He is still innocent untill proven guilty and all in all I just want a good game. I think it's a damn shame Demon City is now likely to get cancelled, because that was right in my wheelhouse and I liked a lot of the GM advice in that game. Fuck #Metoo! I just want a fucking game! /rant
May I say that? Yes, I may say that!

I can just imagine the reaction of all the metropolitan types when the Harvey Weinstein revelations came:

"Fuck #MeToo! I just want a fucking well produced costume drama with left-liberal social mores!" :p

Mordred Pendragon

All I know is that Zak S. is an asshole and I am not going to involve myself in any of this drama regarding him.

You can begin to differ. That's cool. That Kickstarter was funded well before this. As a matter of fact, check out the comments and see how people are pulling support.

Why would it be cancelled?

I doubt the creators have any legal obligation to refund any backer's money. They paid for a book to be made (not a preorder) and when they get the book, they can do whatever they want with it.

The virtue signalling in that KS thread is truly laughable. Thank you for the LoLz!!

Demon City sounds like a very good product (ZakS does World of Darkness) and I am bummed I missed the KS.

Hopefully it still gets published.

RPGPundit

While I DO think that this is an acceptable thread for this forum, because it relates to news in the RPG hobby, the fact that there was already a thread about it on the Pundit's forum and that there's a high chance of people trying to move this off-topic to larger political arguments leads me to feel that it'll be better to close this one.

If you want to talk about this, just go to the Pundit's forum.
