This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Do you have a "favorite" die?

The 20 sider that has 0-9 on it twice is pretty brilliant. Esp. when you roll it with a six sider to determine if it gets 10 added to it. (Old school as f**k).
Like Fudge dice.
Like the new 4 siders I got that aren't those damn pyramids but are little boxes with tapered ends -- very cool.

I don't have a favorite specific die that I own. It seems like every 5-10 years I buy new sets of dice and those take the place of older sets. I typically play systems that use d100 or d6 mechanics, so those are the most common in my collection.

I've got a friend who bought a few of the Chessex "Pound-O-Dice" bags and sorted through them. He found a number of black and orange ones - that matched the colors of his favorite NHL team - and those became his favorites.

I still have the d20, d12, and d8 from my very first dice tube. I'm fond of them.

Yep. Years ago, his Xbox gamertag was "OKindrachuk".

No. I do not have a favorite die. I keep my dice in ziplock bags, and grab what I want without looking. I don't give a shit about sets, or how nice they look. My players think I am nuts. They have certain sets for certain functions or games. I couldn't care less.

I also have a new favorite die-set; some very readable purple transparent dice (with white numbering) that was presented to me as a birthday gift at a local Con by the organizers in appreciation for my contributions to the local and international hobby. Obviously it has a certain sentimental value besides being really nice dice.

My favourite dice are the ones from the old Blue Box D&D that one of my  friends gave me when I started playing D&D. They are an ugly powder blue and white streaked colour which you had to use a crayon to fill in the numbers. Still have and use the dice, and still game with my friend all these years later.

What about Guitar Picks?

Ummm, I buy a bunch of whatever catches my eye, and play with them 'til they're all roached to hell or lost - as picks are want to become over time - then I buy more. Right now I'm working through a dozen pearl white Jerry Garcias. I had to look to see what they were, though I knew the color, so pretty much the same. :D

When I need picks I just buy a few of different gauges, which sit in my guitar case unused because I prefer to use my fingers. Occasionally I might use one for my mandolin.

I wish I could fingerpick! But even though I use a flat pick, my fingernails are part of the sound. :D

I've almost always finger picked. Even when I play electric guitar or bass. Finger picking is awesome for bass because it's percussive or at least feels that way. I found it handy when I bought my MIDI Guitar since it's pretty sensitive and responds better to a lighter touch. Plus it's nice to have the option of plucking the strings and of course muting them. I do use my fingernails for certain types of strumming. I like the control, and I mostly do stuff in digital so I don't really need the extra noise a pick makes.
