Do Duergars Dream of Killing Driders? Or another NF meandering.

So thanks to a confluence of events (the other D&D game which features Shackled City), we the PCs get a duergar slave as an assistant. (The reason being, you're in a drow city, there's not much of a chance of running into a random human or some other PF core race.) Anyway add to that our elven ranger, and the party managed to do decently enough to ensure our status as servitors.

Of course yours truly kind of screwed the pooch when the duergar started to interrogate him about his past... Fortunately with a +20 circumstance bonus AND a +9 CHA, untrained disguise check never had much to worry about. That being said, when the time came to meet House Vonnac's First Daughter, he was already suspicious enough to not be terribly surprised that these drow weren't drow.

That being said, I STILL can't believe the rest of the party willingly divulged their real identities, but there you are. (Course the fact she's an 18th wizard and was pretty ready to fry our butts IF we stepped out of line helped that for her I'm sure...)

Anyway, it wasn't great but it at least ensured we got the info we needed before she cast wish and "BLAM" away go our disguises.

Still don't know which was more annoying to me, being stuck with the Slave Mother, or dealing with our whiny ranger about losing 4 javelins because of the duergar.

Also any suggestions on how to get out of a heavily fortified Drow House before the guards come and kill us?

Bueller?

Oh and why the thread is called "Do Duergars Dream of Killing Driders?" is simple; Our duergar slave basically all out mauled a drider in one round before any did much of anything. Said Drider was kind of protecting a big wig that our First Daughter wanted dead.

Really though I'm guessing the duergar skips out on us.

It's been 11 years. I honestly don't remember.

Greetings!

NIGHTFALL! It's nice to see you! How have you been? Are you doing Pathfinder, 5E, or something else entirely?

Feeling older SHARK. I haven't run much in 3 years, but I am currently in someone mish-mash Pathfinder 1e game. (Mish mash in that it's kind of spelljammer ish with some Buck Rogers/Flash Gordon stuff involved)

Interesting, Nightfall! A mish-mash of 1E Pathfinder? What do you think of 2E Pathfinder? Baizu has sadly gone down the Woke drain. You haven't run much in three years? Damn, my friend! That's a long time to be outta the DM saddle!

Feeling older, indeed. It catches up with everyone! *Laughing* 3E coming out and getting big doesn't seem like that long ago, to me--and yet, it's been over 20 years. Just like the splash that Scarred Lands made, and Necromancer Games. Now, they are all gone, like tumbleweeds blowing across the desert.

Glad you're enjoying it, David.

Shark,

Not truly a fan but not because of the content so much as the ruleset. I still enjoy the 1e for the fact it has stuff I like. Part of the reason for being out so long is due to my new(ish) profession/job; pet sitter. So I don't always have the time. And yes it feels not that long ago with 1e and indeed 3.5 D&D.
