Dice I'd like

I was thiking if I could design some custom dice, I'd like a set that was done in that obsidian/clear black color, filled with fine glitter so that the dice looked like they were carved out of space itself, with numbers done in that old style computer font, like thr travelelr dice were.

What would be cool is if the dice had the numbers inked in reflective metallic colors, and came in various colkors, like red, green, blue, gold and silver.

Those would make killer traveller dice if they were done as d6s.

I suppose a clear dice with a tiny skull (Either realistic looking or metallic) would be cool as long as the numbers were readable.

I once thought a special dice for gurps would bo cool, a big, hollow d6 with 2 small d6s inside it so you could roll 3d6 with a single dice.

So, anyone else have their own dream dice?

I've seen these before...they're around, check the dice booths at cons, they're usually there.

Really joe? I've seen the big clear d6 with a single d6 inside. But not two inside.

But 'dream' dice...well I've started crafting my own enamal filled etchings into blank dice, and it's fun. But the selection of blank dice is fairly limited, so I guess I'd like to see more blank dice options out there.

d18.

There are d14 and d16... but no d18.

Go plastic -- obsidian might be brittle.  It's effectively volcanic glass!

Then tell me where you got them.  :naughty:

I love my brushed stainless steel six-siders.  I love them as much as normal guys love their new guns, golf clubs, or sports cars.

I suppose this identifies me as weird, but it also keeps me out of debt.

No, only my use of REAL MAGIC learned from years of playing D&D keeps me out of jail.  Thank Satan for the Mind Bondage spell.

I swear I just saw some at the FLGS, I wish I'd checked the board before I was over there this evening, I would have snapped a picture for you all.  Or simply proven myself very wrong.

I've seen the 2d6 combos before, but this one sticks in my mind because it was 3d6.

Of course, I could have dreamed it, but I'm pretty sure they had 'em at my FLGS.

d6 numbered 0 to 5 instead of 1 to 6.  Possibly a variant that's numbered 0 to -5 (i.e., 0, -1, -2, -3, -4, -5).  Why?

FOUR cool things you can do with those dice.

1) You can roll a + die and a - die, take the lowest die and treat doubles as 0, to get a distribution similiar to, but more zero-centered, than 4dF for Fudge.  Stephan O'Sullivan used a d6-based system similar to this in early Fudge playtesting before the dF were made.

2) You can use them for a nice exploding roll.  Roll one die.  On a 5, roll again.  With the zero, produces a smooth range of numbers from 0 on up without gaps.

3) Two or three rolled and added together produce a range of numbers from 0-10 or 0-15, which is a more natural range of numbers, in my opinion, than 2-12 or 3-18.

EDIT:

4) You can just add the + die and - die for a smoother -5 to +5 distribution.

And, yes I know you can turn a d6 into one of these dice but it's an awkward solution.

These aren't really what you were asking for, but check out these funky d6s in deep blue:

They have other numerical scales, too (d4, d8, d10, etc.).  No black, though.  Dicepool.com has a pretty incredible selection.
