The whole thread is absolutely fucking bizarre. I've never seen anything like it. I mean, there have to be lots of reasonable people who read it and were astonished at the idiocy expressed by the modclique and their cronies. So why aren't the loonies challenged? Why are people so cowed? Though it's worth noting three other posters were warned or banned in that thread alone for making statements what would pass unnoticed in any other forum I've come across on the internet.

It is safe to assume that all threads started by Ettin are traps designed to increase the number of infraction counts for the mods in the same way that corrupt cops hand out speeding tickets in order to meet their monthly quota.

Yes, but corrupt cops can at least get a few bribes in that, not to mention regular pensions.

What's Ettin got? I somehow don't think that "Hey babe, I'm a moderator at an RPG forum" is a great pick up line. Though of course, he'd not speak to a woman in the first place, before he'd gain her permission to speak on a non - objectifying level.

Of course they are.  There was really one obvious one a few weeks ago that he started to talk about sexism in rpgs.  Which of course proceeded to result in a half a dozen sanctions and bans.  Dude was laughing all the way to the "mod bank".
D&D is not an "everyone gets a ribbon" game.  If you\'re stupid, your PC will die.  If you\'re an asshole, your PC will die (probably from the other PCs).  If you\'re unlucky, your PC may die.  Point?  PC\'s die.  Get over it and roll up a new one.

Why is anyone surprised by this? He's a plant for SomethingAwful, and their goal is to take down the established hobby.  Seriously, having this guy as a mod on rpgnet would be like putting a ETA fanatic in charge of Spanish national unity talks.
