This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

KrakaJak

I have bought myself a copy of Tunnels & Trolls 7th edition. It looks pretty neat.

This is all your fault!

Well Messrs KrakaJak and Rotwang, now thanks to both of you, I too have ordered it, though I had to get 7.5 as I couldn't find the anniversary tin edition.

7.5 has more goodies than the 7.0 tin, so don't worry!

Can "Dear Dr. Rotwang" be a regular site feature?  I can only imagine the influx of readers.

Dear Dr. Rotwang,
I have a strange rash that seems to flare up when ever I see the words LARP and beef patty together. What should I do?

I like it's very simple mechanics. Like so simple they can be explained in a single short paragraph.

They get right the hell out of the way, so you and your players can focus on telling the story and roleplaying, rather than working out THAC0 or to hit modifiers. It's more a harbor for imagination rather than a tactical game.

As for the Tin Box itself...it comes with everything you need to play: Spiral Bound pocket sized (literally) rulebook. A Monster pamphlet and a spell pamphlet, a bunch of cardboard counters, a map grid (which is only needed for visual representation moreso than tactical), and a CD-Rom with a bunch of .pdfs. Oh....and 4 six-sided dice.

It seems to be the most excellent of pick up and play games...but theres enough depth that you could play an extended campaign with them, no problem.

Dear Serious Paul,

It is my well-researched opinion that what you should do is to face your rash head-on -- throw a LARP where everyone plays a meat product.  only then will you find inner peace!

The rash you should take to your primary care physician.  I dunno 'bout no rashes.

Yours,

Dr Rotwang!
