This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: VellorianPerhaps if you took 10 minutes to post a note, you might also take another 30 seconds to read through it and be sure that you're not "just" jumping down the throat of someone in your knee-jerk reaction to an insult that was never given, nor implied, anywhere except in your own mind.

Heh.  You know, you've got a point.  I seriously swear I saw the "just" in there.  Teaches me (again) to post during those snippets of time I'm on hold at the office.

I can admit when I'm wrong.  And over-reacting.  I can only say it must be the rpg.net lenses on my eyes kept me from seeing the true picture (where "nostalgia gaming" is an epithet).

Apologies.
For fuck\'s sake, these are games, people.

And no one gives a fuck about your ignore list.

Quote from: Elliot WilenI'm thinking of tweaking the class concept (as described in the RC) slightly and I'm wondering whether it would work to turn Druids into a separate class altogether. Simply follow the cleric progression but assume the Druidic strictures and allow use of Druid spells immediately.

Would this unbalance the class--making Druids too powerful, or alternately no one would want to play a Druid from 1st level? If the former would it help to disallow use of Cleric spells by Druids?

The druid you describe has been used successfully both in local games I've seen and reports from others on Dragonsfoot.

Wow.  In all the years I've been online, that has to be the most gracious apology I've ever seen.

Consider the matter erased and your esteem risen in my eyes.  :)

You, sir, are a gentleman.  :)

Thanks.  I appreciate that. :)

We're all here for the same reason, no matter what we think our differences are.  And at the end of the day, it ain't worth blowing a gasket over any of it.

And here I was, hoping for a big, vitriolic, pointless argument...

You know, I read through my post that engendered KenHR's apology and realized that I was a bit harsh there, myself.

I should apologize to you, as well, Ken.

You know, in many ways I think this forum is therapy for all the years spent on The Forum That Shall Not Be Named.  We're starting to learn how to respect each other without having mods crashing down on every fine point, which only serves to stifle our emotions.

Let's face it, we all have moments when we knee-jerk, post a criticism or whatever.  It's going to happen.  Better to do it, get it out and apologize later, gaining respect than to hold it all in all the time and blow up sometime about how anthropomorphic ducks is such a fucking stupid idea and anyone who plays one has to be a pedophile in disguise, then getting banned for the outburst.

Whoa, I'm long winded...

...anyway...

Ken, my apologies for not being gentle with my rebuke and yet you took the higher road and here we are.  :)

Man, I love this place!  :)

Not at all!  But we should both apologize to Akrasia; he was cheated out of a flamewar.  Bet the popcorn was all ready. :)

I don't think you need to apologize, seriously.  I probably would have responded the same way.

Amen, though I still like the other site.  I just don't find myself as interested in the conversations there anymore.  This board is interesting, and the folks here are really mature, and for the most part seem to understand that disagreements aren't personal, and that you move on.

Accepted. :)

'twas me that started it, though, and ultimately the stupid thing was my fault.

That's something with which just about everyone here can agree.  Kudos to the Pundit!
