This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Does anyone know when the next part of the D&D Next playtest will be released for us to take a look at?
"Meh."

The vitriol for the first batch hasn't died down yet.  When it starts to slip, they'll release part II so we can start all over again.
D&D is not an "everyone gets a ribbon" game.  If you\'re stupid, your PC will die.  If you\'re an asshole, your PC will die (probably from the other PCs).  If you\'re unlucky, your PC may die.  Point?  PC\'s die.  Get over it and roll up a new one.

If that is true, we'll never see the part II.

They said their goal was to release stuff every 5-6 weeks so I'm assuming end of June to first week of July.

I wonder if they'll hold off and release some old-school type modules and so forth concurrently with the 1e reprints hitting the shelves.  Wouldn't be the worst thing they've done :)

Do you think they would actually be that smart though?:D

I'm hoping its pretty soon. Next week we are testing the 3rd level stuff and it would be nice to have some revisions before another playtest.

Quote from: Old Geezer;724252At some point it seems like D&D is going to disappear up its own ass.

Maybe they are saving the next release until someone else quits.

I believe the last email our F&F group talked about said mid-July, but I am sure they are going to crunch the responses from the survey for a couple weeks before the next batch of rules shows up.

BTW, I highly encourage everyone playtesting to do the surveys. That's where the real feedback to WotC is happening, not the forum squabbles.

Also, take the time to include your comments, not just number ratings.

RPGPundit

They are just now processing all the feedback and formulating changes.
