Greetings,
Massively surprised this morning - the substitute host for Glenn Beck is doing a whole segment on Dungeons & Dragons going 'woke'.
Right now he just mentioned the interest of Elon Musk on this topic.
He talks about "races" being retitled as 'species' in the new rules.
This is slightly 'huge' - this show is on radio stations in just about every state of the country.
- Ed C.
That show probably gets 6-7mil listeners, albeit it's NYE and Bowl Games are on, but even f it's half that, a HUGE number of normies are learning about how fucking stupid D&D has become. Even people who don't care about gaming will probably think for a minute about how invasive the woke hivemind has become if it's affecting elf games.
So, cool.
This is pretty wild all told. Its strange all told for ttrpgs to break in to the main stream consciousness.
Post script: what radio show was this so I can try and dig it up?
post script 2.
never mind this was big enough that the hill covered it.
Basicly everyone else is catching up what we already knew months and years ago.
Once again, ClownfishTV comes out with an informative video on the topic.
Anyone else feel uneasy with people who really don't care about D&D – and may even have contempt for gamers – are piling on to the "D&D is going woke" bandwagon?
For example, this video strikes me as having multiple tells that the creators don't actually understand D&D and also are happy to paint "woke" gamers with the general stereotypes "normies" have painted all gamers with for decades.

No.

Congratulations, you've figured out why that video is funny.

Nahh, they understand D&D very well. Sounds like you're just butthurt these idiots are being shown as they truly are, utterly insufferable fools. Normies called us nerds and geeks in the old days, and yet most of us turned out to be relatively respectable, productive citizens. This is a whole new crew of mentally ill idiots.

People on the outside of the hobby are calling it as they see it. Misconceptions are just as much a failure of the presentation as with the misconceiver's ignorance.

I know its a video but I cannot believe that guy stayed. There were a couple of things at the begining that would have made me stand up and walk away from that table.
I am glad this video is pointing out these idiots (and people who think this way) and showing them for who they really are.
Also, while I'm on the fence as to whether that 5E stuff were props they bought just for the video, that 1E player's handbook definitely belonged to someone at the Babylon Bee.
