This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Zachary The First

I remember Erik Mona saying somewhere every single product they produced was subject to a profitability study and such before being released.  It must be working for them.

Quote from: GoOrange;321374This model worked for WotC and seems to be working so far for Paizo so I can't see why they wouldn't want to keep it up. If people will buy it, Paizo will print it.

I'd really worry about them going this way mainly because of their size.  They're stretched thin as it is and I'd hate to see any quality bled from their adventures and setting books, which is where I really think they shine anyway.

I never really wanted to play a gnome until I saw their take on them.

Wonder how much the online Paizo Store has been subsidizing their Pathfinder production operations over the last few years.

Not sure, but the bloody CEO herself was working until midnight in the warehouse last week to send their books out.

Sounds like a small business operation run on a shoestring budget.

Insufficient Metal

Oh man, the cavalier. Hopefully they implement it better than Unearthed Arcana did. "The cavalier can never used ranged weapons, because they are cowardly and dishonorable. He only fights from horseback with an eighteen foot lance."

Quote from: ggroy;321302Hopefully Pathfinder doesn't go all trigger happy on spatbook production, like what happened at WotC during 3.5E and now 4E.

How do you think they're going to stay in business?
