This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Just Another Snake Cult

So... apparently the Juggalos (Fans of the rap group Insane Clown Posse) did their own relatively big tabletop gaming con. It must have been promoted exclusively through the Juggalo scene, because I don't remember reading a peep of it on any of the gaming sites I visit. Apparently a kid there, possibly gay, got jumped and his face was pounded into meatloaf (The pics ain't pretty). There may have been guns displayed by some con-goers. The entire con was then cancelled for "Safety" concerns mid-event via letters that hotel guests awoke to find had been slid under their doors in the dead of night.

I'm actually sympathetic to Juggalos (I'm not one but I come from the same... um... sub-cultural milieu), and I don't mean to mock them, but this sounds nuts.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Mordred Pendragon

I get the feeling that Juggalos tend to ruin everything they touch.

After all, Insane Clown Posse albums don't get released, they escape.

They don't go Gold or Platinum, they go cardboard. They're on the verge of becoming sheet rock.

I'm here all night, folks.

But seriously, as someone who has met some Juggalos and ex-Juggalos, I can safely say that the subculture attracts a lot of unhinged people, similar to furries but in a different way.
Sic Semper Tyrannis

Arkansan

That doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I've had the misfortune of dealing with a fair few Juggalos over the years and they've always been the worst sort. Hard drug use is rampant in the subculture and they all fancy themselves as badasses.
