This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: The Ent;688309That's awesome Sacro.

Some real gems were made for 2e.

Tis true.  I have a huge old trunk (the kind wealthy people used for traveling in the 1800s) full of all my other stuff (all my Dragon magazines, 1e books and modules, boxed sets of B/X, other gaming books (TMNT, Robotech, etc) and a bunch of other 2e stuff I had as well.  I think I need to find another one now ;)

I even found a book called, "Power of Magic", which is sort a collection of "real magic" used in various cultures around the world that I had as inspiration for my in game stuff.
D&D is not an "everyone gets a ribbon" game.  If you\'re stupid, your PC will die.  If you\'re an asshole, your PC will die (probably from the other PCs).  If you\'re unlucky, your PC may die.  Point?  PC\'s die.  Get over it and roll up a new one.

A shit ton of 2e stuff:
Al Qadim rulebook
About every "complete book of" you can think of
Arms and Equipment guide
Catacomb guide
Creative Campaigning (these last two are invaluable even if you're not playing 2e)
Villains
Giantcraft
Draconimion
Book of Drow
Encyclopedia Arcana
Wizard's spell compendium I and II
all of the 2e black border reprints (I already had my originals handy)
High level campain book
S&P and C&T books
Forgotten Realms boxed setting
Spellbound boxed set
Ruins of undermountain boxed set (now that's a true megadungeon.  I really like the cards that came along with it)
BECMI Creature Catalog book (orange border)
Ravenloft bestiary
Red Steel setting
A bunch of Forgotten Realms poster sized folded maps
A Balder's gate map (I think from the video game)
Core Rules 2.0 CD Rom with instruction book (I already had 1.0)

And quite a bit of Earthdawn stuff, although I never actually played it.  Not sure of the version, but it's all from 1993
Earthdawn setting
Parainth boxed set
Barsaive boxed set
Creatures of Earthdawn book
Earthdawn companion book

I told you last night, get the hell out of my garage!

Quote from: Sacrosanct;687986I suppose I could scan the maps into my computer and run Ruins of Undermountain with Roll20 on a G+ hangout.  That would be a loooooong set of sessions ;)

I would either Google it or ask G+ about it first.  I bet you someone has already mapped it.  Well 50/50 shot, anyway.

Quote from: Sacrosanct;687986Hard thing about G+ is finding people who are free for more than the first couple of sessions. I wonder what the interest level would be for something like that.  Perhaps using Next's rules.

Yeah, what is the deal with that?  I went to roll20 looking to _play_ something/anything at night during the week.  All I found was a 4e Pokemon game and PFS (which wasn't a regular seat at all but a loose promise that I wouldn't have any trouble finding a seat.)

As a former WoW addict it really baffles me.  "Raid nights" were pretty simple to set up, particularly with a few thousand people to pull from.  Guilds getting XP and raid lockouts and other things messed with that (deliberately), but the culture should still exist.

Very cool.

I Recently Moved some old 2e and Basic stuff from my old "boy room" where they'd been gathering dust to my appartment, myself. :)

(I'm a huge Forgotten Realms fan, still got the Gold Box I bought 20 years back. Well actually the physical box had to go (except the cover) due to wear :D but I love that box!!!)

I've considered getting some more of the old classic stuff, too (Forgotten Realms stuff, Basic stuff, other stuff...) now and then. It's not that pricey on the net. :)
