Cubicle 7 has entered the fray with their own d20 system. Here is the announcement:
You heard it here first! C7d20, our brand-new system, is in development. Building on the great d20 games we know and love, our system will offer all the exciting action-packed adventures players expect from a d20 fantasy game, as well as the broader styles of gaming that we've brought to 5e in Doctors and Daleks, Adventures in Middle-earth, and Uncharted Journeys.
C7d20 will be a complete rule set that is compatible with 5e — you'll be able to use all of your favourite 5e books and supplements, including Uncharted Journeys and Broken Weave. A core rulebook for C7d20 will launch later this year and you'll be able to see hints of what is to come when Broken Weave launches. We're involved in discussions about open licensing and will have more news on this as the situation develops.
We know that this is the beginning of something truly special and the hundreds of people who have registered interest in the campaign clearly agree! You can follow the Broken Weave Kickstarter here
The question now seems: Do these 3pp stick to their guns?
Or do they go back to licking the hand that feeds...
My cynical ass can't help but wonder if anyone will remember any of these in five years, or is this just a repeat of the 3E shovelware of the 'oughts.

I'm hopping at least some to stick to their shooting irons, will they? Who knows.
I'm also hopping those who swore NEVER to play Wotzi's D&D again stick to theirs.

I have a feeling that a lot (like 95 to 99%) of it is just internet bluster, but I too am hopeful that at least some people will wonder out into the wider ttrpg world and discover that there's more than just D&D out there.
Another possibility is itll be the Pathfinder effect cranked up to 11;
"What kind of D&D do you play?"
"I play Paizo D&D. You?"
"I play Cubicle 7 D&D."
"And I play Kobold Press D&D."

I think that would still be a win, reduce D&D to the level of Kleenex.

I don't enjoy 5e so walking away from Wotzi was easy, but I will look at the 6e system and judge that when it arrives, but since there's a 90% probability that 6e will be woketard garbage that's basically 5.5e, I doubt Wotzi has much to fear from my deplorable dollars poisoning their SJW utopia.
EDIT: As for C7D20...I expect the same, but I'm happy to read a free PDF.

Plus if they're making their own license I want to read that too. I think I can manage to get my hands around a free PDF when it's published, but maybe not, who knows?
I'm glad Cubicle 7 is building their own d20 system. Too many posters on ENWorld seem far too willing to lick Hasbro's boots after this announcement. If Hasbro's VTT makes real money with teenage newbies, then there's nothing stopping them from pulling this stunt all over again, and going 'scorched earth' on the TTRPG industry in the next 5 to 10 years.....when they're in a stronger position to do just that. They only backed down, because they stupidly chose the worst possible time to pull this stunt.
Trusting Hasbro (or any ESG-funded multi-billion dollar corporation) is beyond retarded, but too many idiots will remove this event from their minds like offending malware.
"Feelsz before realsz." ::)
That sounds great. Let the companies who can, pave their own path to awesome gaming.
I visited their website and checked out their products, specifically because of this.
