This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

How was there no outcry about this? Would it have been considered funny if the character was a lecherous straight white male and done the same thing to one of the female cast members? Inquiring minds would like to know!

tenbones

Because the only people that would be outraged are hypocritical retards that don't come to this forum?? Most people here give zero fucks about this.

That's where I'm going to put my chip on this table.

It's not frequent that Tenbones misses the point, take note!

The lack of outcry from the usual brigade is telling of their real agenda. The OP is 100% correct that if a [straight white] man randomly humped a woman there would (rightful) screeching. If you're some other color of the rainbow, however, you get a free pass.

The other takeaway from this video is more generally what a complete train wreck Critical Role has become (maybe was all along, I dunno).
Old School? Back in my day we just called it "School."

Well...

I give people here credit that this is not really a surprise.

I'm sure some whack-a-doo will play dumb and prove me wrong. But you know... if that happens, it only makes me look benevolent and magnanimous.

Edit: That was your 666th post! /metal

Expectations of reciprocity regarding outrage are IMO a complete waste of time and energy.  Looks like something you would see 1000 times in a pride parade.  Both guys look to be on the team, so big deal.  The outrage police are never going to be outraged by anything that looks like a chance to showcase homosexual behavior.  Stop looking for fair play from that side and you are going to sleep better, because those people just do what is expedient in the moment.

I file this firmly in the who gives a shit column.

Pretty sure Sam Riegel is a lecherous straight white man, complete with a wife and kids.

OK, this doesn't shock me. It doesn't interest me either. I've seen more bizarre stuff being live cast of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. It is supposed to be a panel at a gaming convention, but it looks like this would really distract from the gaming. The audience seemed to be enjoying it, I didn't, so this isn't something that appeals to me. Doesn't mean that I should try to shut them down, but it sure has little to do with any gaming that I have been a part of. So, another nail in the coffin of GenCon as far I am concerned.

Bleeting like a sheep over this just makes you look like a woke scold from the mirror universe. Not my scene either.

Because gay pride is year-round.

Hey there buddy ol' pal I'd like to introduce you to something called Gay Culture, it's been around for about a half century now and is chock full of this kind of flamboyant, hide-your-kids, hyper-sexualized degeneracy.

This is an interesting point.  There are literally untold numbers of gay and bisexual men and women who you'd never know if you passed them in the street or interacted with them in the office - because they're not attention-seeking.

For every blue-haired almost-nude prancer dressed in ass-less chaps in the gay pride parade, there is a middle-aged gay man who goes home from work at the end of the day to his life partner who he has been partners with for the past 20 years and who routinely volunteers at a Catholic charity (and maybe they also wear ass-less chaps, but you'll never know, since it's in the privacy of their own home).

Of course, it's that same situation amongst straight people too - for every leftist antifa moldylocks making a nuisance of herself, there is a quiet, slightly overweight soccer mom with stretch marks who, after the PTA meeting, goes home to eat a nice dinner cooked by her husband who she keeps dressed in a gimpsuit and treats as her sex slave, on those weekends when the kids are staying with friends or at their grandparents. Again, you'll never know, because all anyone sees is a good husband and father who routinely does romantic stuff for his wife.

That's the point - *most* people don't feel any need to be activists about their life choices - they just get on with living their lives.

That's because most people are not insecure 'look at me' narcissists.
