i'm working on some fey creatures for a Dragon magazine submission. come on by and lend some input: http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=169792

I just asked my web browser, and it said it didn't want to go over to that OTHER site. It did say it would be happy to display your stuff if it was actually cross-posted here. :D
Creating a fey? Interesting prospect. I wonder if I could create myself a race of loyal psionic fey spies. I guess such project will be too difficult for most mundane seers and wizards, though...

As soon as I finish with the bisexual ninja fembots, I'll get right on it.

I'm with Cybes on this one. I am not going back to Enworld for all the tea in China (which incidentally, is not really that much). But I would be more than happy if you cross-posted it here. :D
well, can we do polls here? i can just mix in the results (but i'd have to let people on "the other side" know what we're doing here to avoid confusion).

I don't think that polls are currently enabled, or if it something one has to be of a certain level or greater to create.
heh, OK, for those of you who refuse to go to the OTHER place... :p here is the original post. whatever results you give i will take into consideration when i add everything up. the image posted below has the poll options.

Keep in mind, this creature has only 1-3 hit dice, so it should not have a ton of abilities. i'm going to use the most popular choices to get an idea of what it should have.
This is our current, working description:
This chaotic good creature is a small humanoid with a stony hide. These fey usually travel in groups, and like to appoint themselves the guardians of any stone structure used by humanoids: city walls, castles, temples, bridges, even cobblestone roads. They provide this help to the creatures that use these structures whether their help is wanted or not. They can be chased away by the inhabitants only by threats, frequently repeated requests to leave, or by gifts. They protect the structure from damage, attacks, and intruders, and make repairs and "improvements" as they see fit.
feel free to mention other ideas for powers besides those listed above. the original discussion thread is here: http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=169279

I would say that the three first abilities as well as a hide bonus among stone structures makes the most sense. And no, I am still not going over there.
you mean Creature Catalog monsters? :) if so, hope they work out well for you.
well, you can get to it by viewing my profile, but i can always stick it in my sig (like i usually do)...
well then, i hope you like my sig better now. :p
bumping for more votes/discussion... hope to get to this today.

mind posting it over here? I'm not a particular fan of ENWorld, so the less often I need to go over there, the better. ;)

What the elf said. I am not going back there if I can avoid it.
*le sigh*
ok, here's what i have cobbled together. let me know how well this fits. :)
This chaotic good creature is a small humanoid with a stony hide and comically-large ears. They have meld into stone and stone shape spell-like abilities, using them to protect the structure from damage, attacks, and intruders, and make repairs and "improvements" as they see fit. They can also squeeze through spaces in stones as if they were two size categories smaller, and can curse enemies forcing them to make a "bad luck" reroll.
I like the flavor of it. very nice.

I agree, I particularly find that they enjoy making "improvements" on the structures as well. This is very much in flavor for the classic chaotic streaks that most fey possess. :D
i forget if that was my idea, or if i was elaborating on something someone else said. :)

Does it matter? Either way it makes it simple to create an adventure around them.
no it doesn't really matter (since no one got pissy that i'm using it), and you're absolutely right that it makes its own adventure idea. :)
anyone want to venture an idea for a name for the little fellow?

Rock Gnome. :p
Seriously though, Something like "House Friend" or something to that effect.
Rock gnomes already exist, they're the standard gnomes. But now that they've been turned into bards, I suppose they could be renamed Rock'n'Roll Gnomes.
Quote from: KrishnathSomething like "House Friend" or something to that effect.
more like "uninvited houseguest" ;)
Playing with synonyms I came up with:
house helper
abode assistant
domicile defendant
Of those three, the first is perhaps the best. Think about what a commoner would call it...
here's another poll looking for votes: http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=173223
if you'd care not to log in to enworld to vote, i'll take your input here. ;)
Call it.....Free Mason! Or how about.....Masonite! Handy Man? Brick Fixer? Uh....Hearth Guardian? Oh fine...got me.....
