This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: Mr. AnalyticalI thought they might be actually.  Either that or you're Mormons ;-)

Nah - we're old Yankees. Or at least I'm old Yankee and he's half-Yankee, half-Slovak. Do Mormons have wierd names? The ones I've met had normal American names. :D

My games would likely go to my buddy Pat if I were to buy it today.  Hopefully they'll go to my kids someday, if I make it that far.

At this point, there is only one person who has expressed an interest in my games: my oldest daughter.  I suspect she would be the one who enjoyed them the most and had the most memories of me when enjoying them.  Once she discovers boys, however, I suspect that will change...

When I die, surely at the hands of my many enemies, I expect that my body will be laid upon a bier made of the corpses of those I had slain before they dragged me down, my books piled around me, along with other grave goods, and burned under the open sky.
For you the day you found a minor error in a Post by Spike and forced him to admit it, it was the greatest day of your internet life.  For me it was... Tuesday.

For the curious: Apparently, in person, I sound exactly like the Youtube Character The Nostalgia Critic.   I have no words.

Hmm. She could combine dating and gaming, though; by any chance, has she ever heard of Breaking the Ice?

I haven't heard of it, I doubt that she has.  What is it?

Interesting that you'd mention combining dating and gaming.  On our way home from the gameshop the other day, she had some comments:

D: Dad, I really don't think I'll ever date anyone from the Game Shop.
Me: Why's that?
D: They smoke.
Me: Okay.
D: They all have long hair.
Me: Okay.
D: They always dress in black.
Me: (Starting to chuckle) Okay.
D: Some of them don't bathe.
Me: (Holding back the laughter) Okay.
D: All in all, Dad, none of them are what I'd consider "dating material" even though I have a lot in common with them and they're generally smarter than people I've met other places.
(And I'm thinking, "what other places have you been where you've seen 'eligible dating material' guys?")
Me: What's your conclusion, then?
D: Oh, they're fun to play games with, talk to and generally hang out with, but I'd never consider them for a boyfriend.

She's 11, by the way. ;)

Smart girl. Now you just have to make sure that she develops a similarly healthy dislike of jocks and of emo kids, and you're all set.

As for me, when I die my gaming books and my pipe collection will both be sold off to help raise funds for the construction of a mausoleum/monument in my honour in a public plaza in Montevideo.

Jong, as my trustiest Proxy, will be buried by my side; alive, if necessary.

She ought to have a talk with those guys. Maybe some frank comments by a smart girl who likes games would get them to clean up their act.

As for my games (both RPG and wargames) I really haven't given much thought to it. If I kicked off unexpectedly I'd hope my friends would somehow get a chance to go over the collection.

I couldn't think of a more fitting disposition. Jong must be enthusiastic about this! :D
