This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I'm not sure that needs a house rule. There's ways to increase your damage or ignore Body Armor (stun weaponry, gasses, etc.). It would be an odd fight that had all energy, physical, and mental attacks in the party exactly nullified by the enemy's defenses. And even then, there's always Martial Arts B to mess people up without dealing damage.

Or the ever popular kit-bashed nullifier weapon tied to the enemy's body chemistry. Or you could have Dr. Who come along and reverse the polarities. That always works. :)

Wrong Martial Arts there:  B increases fighting for striking/landing blows. Your thinking of A (Using their own strength against them) or D (finding weak spots)

Yeah, sorry. I had B stuck in my head because it's what one of the players took as an Ultimate Skill. I was thinking of D, but A + D would be even better.

Dr Rotwang!

When you guys are done monkeying with the rules, let's see some original heroes!  I dreamed up an alien bounty hunter stuck on Earth, taking jobs as a mercenary...she's green!

If anyone happens to find a download of some counters and generic maps marked out in areas, please let me know. There's tons of maps in the modules that can be used, but the more the merrier. :) I haven't found any counters yet.

Heromachine is very helpful for that "Custom" look.

Looks nice, but not $20 nice. For the most part it owuld only ever get used to make a few custom counters for MSH. Every other game we play we have lots minis for.

Ghost Lion

F Ex   A Gd   S Gd   E Ex   R Gd   I Ex   P Gd
Health: 48        Karma (current): 33

Real Name: Lance Leopold Gallant

Resources: Good

Powers:

Enhanced Senses: Remarkable

Contacts: Black Panther, Lisette Morris (Crime beat reporter)

Lance was raised by U'baunta a Shaman who was befriended by his great grandfather during Teddy Roosevelt's travels--having to return to the states due to his wife's pregnancy being problematic, U'baunta a Wakandan national came along and used his natural medicines to help save the life of the child when it was obvious nothing could be done for Margerate (Lance's great grandmother.)

More recently Lance's parents were killed in a car accident, and he was left to the care of his aunt Theona. Theona's abuse caught the attention of the long time family friend U'baunta who appeared on her doorstep and demanded the then 4 year old boy. She refused and found herself threatened with U'baunta striking her with a cane, and some revelation about her wealth (which comes from Lance's parents death.)

Lance was raised in the U.S but often spent summers in Wakanda, where eventually he was introduced to the Black Panther.  Being trained in the ways of shamanic forces, Lance somehow inherited aspects of his totem animal.

Mind, I don't have my counters anymore so I made those from memory; I might monkey with the presentation a little, we'll see.

The folks over at the classicmarvel.com forums pointed me to http://www.classicmarvel.com/download/download_basic.htm. There is a set of foldouts, and another set called Pit of The Viper that comes with more.

I used Office Depot to print out the three main books (player's, judge's, and ultimate powers). If you pick your order up in the store they will charge you for the pages that the website didn't charge for, so I suggest having the copies mailed to you. It was only a difference of 10 bucks for the three book, but that could have been used for munchies at the game. :)

What are peoples rules preference for Marvel (Basic, Advanced, or Ulitmate Powers)?  For me, the Ultimate Powers book was too much but the differences between Basic and Advanced each have their pluses and minuses.
