Title: Chi for Robots?
Post by: Ghost Whistler on August 31, 2010, 10:55:13 AM
What's a good word for the robot equivalent of Chi? What should such a force be called.

It translates loosely to "the cyber-force" though robots prefer not to talk about it.

I like Clash's idea.

I might go with Chi, no matter robots aren't people, they are a part of the world. Like sites have chi too. In the mystic sense, not the physical (Breath) sense.

There is something appealing about a robot mindset that views chi in this way.

I wanted it to be something different, because robots are different (they are robots, not people!). So something suitable to the robot paradigm. Something that is finite - they burn it off and have to refuel in some fashion ("this oil bath is going to feel so good").

In a science fiction setting (that i again return to...like the proverbial moth to the flame) where chi is real (as is kung fu and robots who have their own inner power).

Oh, they laughed at me at the university, too, but you'll see! You'll ALL see! I'll have the last laugh yet! Come, Feinman! To the LabORatory!
