This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Cha'alt and Venger banned from local game store

Briefly, because I was critical of the BLM organization in 2020, local hobby shop Misty Mountain Games destroyed the Cha'alt books they had on their shelves and won't let me run games there.  Effectively, I'm banned.  I mean, I don't want to go where I'm not welcome... but this blatant political partisanship and pandering to the woke left is pretty much everything I hate about current year RPGs

Here's a link to the video where I show a screenshot as evidence of MMG's reasons.  A true "family friendly" store wouldn't put a Marxist organization trying to disrupt the nuclear family before an actual family man who loves roleplaying.  All my public sessions in the past have been PG-13.

This happened a year and a half ago, if you're just now finding out about it, it must not have made that big of a difference in your life.

Looks like another area gaming store, I'm Board, decided to remove your products around the same time (screenshot attached). Which I only mention because otherwise, it'd probably take you another year and a half to figure that one out.

Edit: also, good job doxxing your buddies, numbnuts.

Like I said in mewe, things will get much worse before they even start to showing sings of getting better.

We need to start building alternatives before we find ourselves censored.

Decentralized, built on the blockchain (censorship free/proof) easy to set up, you can accept cryptocurrency & credit/debit cards.

Add some links to other designer's stores and we have the starts of something.

Are you wondering why I didn't reach out to Misty Mountain Games about running games there during the pandemic? I don't keep tabs on any retailer's social media.  Unless they messaged me or someone saw it and messaged me, how could I have known?

Also, thanks for the screenshot.  I saw that MMG was talking to other game store retailer in the area, coming to a mutual agreement on Cha'alt and myself.

Kind of, yeah. Or at least shopped there. I mean, you haven't set foot in the place for two years or more. I guess I'm just having a hard time caring about your beef with a place you don't even patronize, and judging by your last video, don't care for because of their ripped chairs and nasty bathroom.

CuckTamponArmy defending the burning of book because the-author has a difference of opinion then he does.

How very virtue signalling SJW CB of him.

If the author had the same opinion he did and it happened to his favoured he would be screaming censorship at the top of his lungs.

Go go SJW Dude  Ranger I guess.

For the first year of the pandemic, I went to the grocery store once a week... and that's it.  In 2021, I got out a little bit more, but nothing as self-indulgent as shopping for RPG stuff.  Not trying to virtue signal, my wife was pretty scared for us and our kids, and we were all deluded by the media, big tech, politicians, big pharma, etc.  I'm sure you can imagine.

And while Misty Mountain Games wasn't a great "game room", it was almost always available and in a good location for those coming to play.  Over the years, the place had grown comfortable.  It was like a dagger to the heart, at first, hearing that they wanted nothing to do with me or Cha'alt.  After a few days, it stings less, but I still think it's shitty to destroy copies of Cha'alt while banning me from running games there.

Nice hypothetical, but no, I'm not dumb enough to believe that the First Amendment applies to private business. If a conservative-owned store wanted to ban Zweihander, it wouldn't be censorship, it would be their prerogative. The First Amendment exists to protect citizens from government, not to protect the government from citizens, or citizens from each other. This is not "censorship", it's the free market at work. Move to China, if that bothers you so much.

Did you still buy weed during the pandemic, or was that too "self-indulgent" lmao?

Obviously, you're not trying to have a substantive "good faith" discussion.  Just being a troll.  Bye!

Was going to comment this, too. Really, I would be very surprised if DTRPG doesn't do this kind of thing soon to somebody. I said on the Turning Corner on Woke thread that companies will have to choose between bankruptcy and jettisoning Woke behavior, but that doesn't mean that a number of big industry players won't voluntarily choose bankruptcy.

Take WotC, for example. I fully expect that if/ when WotC gets into a situation where they have to choose between good business and toxic politics, they will absolutely choose toxic politics and use the fact they are the big player in an attempt to play scorched earth. When they threaten DTRPG and LGSs with pulling the plug, DTRPG and the LGSs will capitulate in a heartbeat because having WotC pull out would be an insta-bankrupt situation. But at that point, these companies are going to bankrupt, anyway.

I think we're looking at an 80%+ industry die-back starting mid 2023. Start building alternative platforms now.

Nice try at defending censorship CuckTampon Army

Save your virtue signalling bullshit.

Then again it's ok for your SJW to cancel someone because of " reasons and feels"

When it comes to your side suffering the same it's censorship because of once again " reasons and feels"

Hopefully it backfires and hurts their sales
