SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I haven't looked into that one yet.  Thanks for reminding me

Can one find 3D subsector generators anywhere? One thing that's always irked me about Traveller-based games is that space is basically "Flatland."

I saw one a couple decades ago posted on Marc's forums and tried playing with it as a GM.  Not fun.  More realistic but more a of pain than it was worth.  Which is probably why it never took off with the community.

I've always had a soft spot for Space Opera's star atlas 3d maps.  They start with a beacon star at the center and then all the other stars are marked relative to that in 3d space.  A little math for true space distance never bothered me and these days it would be a snap to make a little web toy in javascript for it.

Purportedly this product has plugins for traveller compatibility: https://nbos.com/products/astrosynthesis/screen-shots

Me too, but the 2D maps are far easier to use at the table, and the difference doesn't significantly affect play.
