SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The Old School Encounters Reference is the fourth in the Classic Dungeon Designer's series for 1st edition AD&D and compatible with OSRIC. The Encounters Reference is a comprehensive book of tables and pre-generated assortments for use by the GM in designing and running an old school fantasy game. This 3rd and final edition has been thoroughly revised and expanded with even more content, better layout and indexes in both print and pdf versions. It is my hope this will set a new standard in free high-quality gaming supplementals. Here's the table of contents, which should give you an idea of the breadth of material included:

Another great netbook. Thanks again!

(edit after a more thorough skim) WOAH. 160 pages of random charts, stats and info organized by encounter area and type, forms, ways to generate campaigns, gods, treasures, places and more on the fly. FOR FREE. This is serious goodness, no matter what system you use for fantasy gaming.

Try either reloading the page or clicking on (if there is such a link) "Click here to force redirect". Sometimes if you wait a bit the page will automatically refresh. It's a quirk of the hosting site used.

Thanks again, Kellri!  The second version of this file was really impressive, but with this...!  I stand in awe.
For fuck\'s sake, these are games, people.

And no one gives a fuck about your ignore list.

Very Impressive. Not to mention very well-timed release-wise. I have an immediate use for it. Thank you very much for putting this together.

Just a heads up. Fixed a few other niggling little errors and added a couple of filler tables. Also, there are more than a few 'easter egg' in-jokes inside for those who like that sort of thing. Corrected the index to reflect the changes. If you plan to print a copy, I urge you to download this *final-I-promise*update.

P.S. Editing a crunchy rpg book is a lesson in humility. Over and over again. I can only imagine some medieval scribe polishing up an illumination of the Apocalypse of St. John only to be told 'you misspelled Christ as Chris in Chapter 4' or 'Nice job with the pictures, but can I get that in plain text?'

Please set it up in Lulu. I´d pay $20 for a softcover of that book.
