I already have it.

Great comment, very useful.

I, too, own a copy and will be buying another just so TLG will continue to publish all the other stuff that sat on the back burner for years. That's the real reason to support this. RE: Gygax writing it, I've talked to Jeff Talanian and he pretty much said EGG is responsible for 95% of his and the boxed set, Talanian just did some editing for the most part and got the manuscript together at the end when Gary was not doing so well.  He could be full of shit, but if you go through the book it's like reading the DMG or something, so if Talanian ghostwrote some of it he was channeling Gary.
It takes considerable knowledge just to realize the extent of your own ignorance.

Same here. I'll happily pony up for a second copy because Gary's final works deserve to be released. It's as close as we're ever going to get to having CG.

Thanks for the clarifications on Talanian's work on TUW. That was certainly the feeling I got from it, so I'm glad that it appears to have been accurate.

I bought it "to convince the estate of its commercial liability."

I've wanted to run a "Gygax Greyhawk" campaign for a long time. If Zagyg is the closest I'll ever get to Gary's Castle Greyhawk, I'm in. I just hope that (a) it's mostly written by The Man and not the co-author, and (b) they don't drag out the necessary components to make the total cost of the dungeon ridiculous.

Oh, and that I live long enough.

Yggburgh and Upper Works are absolutely Gary Products. As far as what they'll have Luke do with the notes Gary made for the rest of the castle, I can't say how closely they'll keep to Gary's original vision.

Paul Stormberg had stated in an interview that they had discovered Gary's remaining dungeon notes... Perhaps the original eight levels. I really hope they don't botch it up like Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson did with Frank Herbert's found-in-a-safe-deposit-box Dune 7.

The entire original Castle Greyhawk exists in Gary's estate contents, including both the first version (created by Gary during the OD&D playtesting), and the second, expanded version (created by Gary and Rib Kuntz when they combined Rob's Castle El Raja Key with the original Greyhawk levels, when Rob began to co-DM the Greyhawk campaign with Gary).

Anyone know approximately when the hard copies of the reissue are planned to ship?
