This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Sounds like the "Gord the Rogue" series may get a re-print at some point too.

So Zagyg finally comes to fruition, for the masses?  It's a shame that half of those who were longing to see this day, have probably already died of old age.

If this would have released, shortly after Gary's death; it would have been Huge!!!

Sounds like the Hermit adventure will be later this year and early next year will be the Gygaxian Fantasy Worlds series

LordBP

If those do well, there may be 3-4 more boxed sets of Castle Zagyg.

I looks like this is for Castles and Crusades.  Am I correct?

Believe so, they include a document on converting it to 5E when you buy it.

I bought it "to convince the estate of its commercial viability."

I've wanted to run a "Gygax Greyhawk" campaign for a long time. If Zagyg is the closest I'll ever get to Gary's Castle Greyhawk, I'm in. I just hope that (a) it's mostly written by The Man and not the co-author, and (b) they don't drag out the necessary components to make the total cost of the dungeon ridiculous.

Oh, and that I live long enough.

Yggburgh and Upper Works are absolutely Gary Products. As far as what they'll have Luke do with the notes Gary made for the rest of the castle, I can't say how closely they'll keep to Gary's original vision.

The Upper Works are credited: "By Gary Gygax with Jeffrey P. Talanian."

In situations like this, what you purchase may come across as "inspired by" notes provided by the famous guy, but mostly are the product of the "co-author." And that's what I'm afraid of here. Certainly that would be even more of a risk with any new products that hadn't seen publication during the line's initial life time.

Talanian definitely helped him get it done, likely due to Gary's health at the time, but the product itself certainly feels like it's straight from Gary's brain. Yggsburgh itself is 100% Gary. And yes, I agree with you about the unpublished products. My hope is that Luke had enough discussions with his father over the years to get it out there as faithfully as possible. I certainly can't speak as to what state Gary's notes for the unpublished products were in.
