Title: C7: World War Cthulhu
Post by: K Peterson on September 10, 2013, 11:31:01 AM
I picked this (http://www.cubicle7.co.uk/our-games/world-war-cthulhu-2/) up a couple weeks ago and have been slowly reading through it. Wow, very nice stuff. A promising start to a series of game lines, all focused around 20th century (military) conflicts.

This past weekend, I queried my players, asking what Rpg they'd be most interested in me running. (I gave them a list of what I'd feel comfortable GMing to narrow things down). WWC won the majority vote. Dark Streets (http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/109328/Dark-Streets) put up a bit of a fight... and I'll probably get around to running it in the near future.

I've heard a little bit about Achtung Cthulhu, but from my understanding it's intended to be very pulpy in play. (Correct me if I'm wrong). WWC shears a little closer to a gritty historical game - which has far more appeal to me.

That is very much the difference between the two projects. Achtung! Cthulhu is much pulpier, much more over-the-top, while WWC indeed tries for more of a quiet horror sense.

I contributed to WWC, and have friends who worked on A!C, and think that there is plenty of space in the field for both to thrive.
