This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: FighterboyThe other is the Grit rule, that allows you to keep fighting when you should be unconscious (equivalent to being heroic in RQIII), except grit is a seperate skill.  Rename that to "Faith in the Catholic cause," or "Loyalty to the King," or "in Love with Lady Elizabeth" and you have a BRP version of Riddle of Steel's spiritual attributes!
Or HeroQuest's Relationships, or Pendragon's Passions.  :)

Sounds French. What movie was he in?

Consonant Dude

Balbinus: I forgot in my review but the game uses a chart. It's a single chart where you cross reference your respective maneuvers in a fight to find a bonus. Then you roll the dice and things go from there.

Quote from: Ian AbsentiaI once asked this sort of question a couple of years back.  I quoted a key passage from The Three Musketeers and asked people to post in interpretation of the events in their favorite game system.  I was particularly impressed with Bruce Ferrie's use of the HeroQuest system.

That was some amazingly cool reading, any other examples that have survived that you could point us to?:)
"Dr.Who and CoC are, on the level of what the characters in it do, unbelievably freaking similar. The main difference is that in Dr. Who, Nyarlathotep is on your side, in the form of the Doctor."

Take care Nothingland. You were always one of the most ridiculously good-looking sites on the internets, and the web too. I\'ll miss you.  -"Derek Zoolander MD" at a site long gone.

I recall that the D&D 3e example was pretty good, too, though at the time I had no interest in the game.  It would be good for me (and perhaps Balbinus, too) to dig that thread up.

A-ha!  Here we are.

I'm sorry, but you can't just leave that there.  I need to know the whole story
