This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Wonder what will happen if Kevin runs out of money in the middle of the lawsuit, and/or he loses the lawsuit and is forced to pay all of the other party's legal expenses.

Would that mean the gaming world becomes bereft of Rift?

Or is RIFT/Rifts then adrift?

I doubt Kevin will give up control of RIFTS under any circumstances, as long as he is alive and breathing.  He probably won't file for chapter 7 personal bankruptcy either.

Most likely he'll go on further "funding drives", until nobody is willing to open up their wallets any longer.  After that, it's hard to say for sure what else he will think up of.

Oh please, get over it. We all have RP preferences. There are people whose playstyle, I don't particularly care for, and who sap my enjoyment of a game, so I avoid them. I don't join their tables and I discourage them from joining mine. Deadalus has said basically the same thing, he's just a little more stringent about it. Expressing a preference for who you like to play with is not tantamount to discriminatory persecution. Grow up.

Bad analogy.

A better one would be respecting gays but not having any desire to be fucked in the ass by one.

Not at all.

But replace "Palladium fanboys" with "Blacks" or "Catholics" or "Role-players in general", and it comes off as a pretty bigoted statement, to some of us.

He's entitled to his opinion, just as I'm entitled to point and laugh at him for being stupid enough to actually express it publicly.

Bullshit. If you're black or Catholic, that is unrelated to gameplay but "Palladium fanboy" is actually indicative of play-style and game preference, y'know the sorts of things that actually do matter when choosing with whom you're going to sit down and game. Crying persecution because someone doesn't share your game preferences is beyond pathetic; it's actually offensive and trivializing to genuine racism and discrimination. Like I said to Cy, grow the fuck up.

That is the most ridiculous lack of perspective I've seen expressed in some time.  Bravo.

Actually some dick could argue that he doesn't want to game with a catholic because he doesn't want the catholic's religious views to affect gameplay, which is about as dumb as saying a guy who plays palladium's views will affect how he plays, say, D&D or shadowrun.

You're free to your opinion, but I've found racial and religious identity have an intristic effect on the personality of people in general, not just gamers.

And just to be clear, Daedalus said "anyone that plays Palladium", and immediately lumped that entire group into the category of CatPissMen.

I'm not gonna argue that Palladium doesn't have it's share of CatPissMen, but not everyone who's ever played, or even currently plays it, deserves to be lumped into that category.

Again I say, being a fan of Palladium is indicative of enjoying a manner of playing that Deadalus apparently finds distasteful, that is relevant to the way they play other games. Judging a person on that basis may be harsh, but it is not equivalent to discriminating against them on the basis of qualities unrelated to gaming (such as religion or skin colour.) If you can explain to me how being Catholic affects gameplay, I will revise my opinion that you are being a butthurt retard.
