This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Bought anything good lately?

So who's picked up something good in the last week or two?

The guys at Stiggybaby's picked up a few copies of the Gurps Mysteries hardcopy at GenCon. They're sold out now, but I managed to snag one, and it just arrived today, along with Gurps Cops.

Cops I've borrowed and read before, but it's nice to have my own copy finally! Lisa Steele really seems to know her stuff, so based on that and on what other folks have said about it, I'm pretty confident that Mysteries will kick much ass.

Various things:

Qin: The Warring States is fucking unbelievable.  I love it.

GURPS:Banestorm is the first time the old GURPS "Yrth" fantasy setting actually appealed to me!

Mysteries of the Moonsea: Wizards continues to show they can do good stuff with the Realms.

Burning Wheel, and before that, the Rules Cyclopedia. Two great fantasy games at the opposite ends of the rules weight spectrum, IMO.
Running: Dogs of WAR - Beer & Pretzels & Bullets
Planning to Run: Godbound or Stars Without Number
Playing: Star Wars D20 Rev.

A lack of moderation doesn\'t mean saying every asshole thing that pops into your head.

I ordered It Was a Mutual Decision, but it hasn't arrived yet. I plan to use it with some non-gamer friends; though my fortnightly Schweingruppe may also enjoy playing out a couple's break-up (we're about 50% boys and 50% girls). Unusual stuff, and I'm looking forward to reading it.

Cowboy Bebop DVDs, the complete series plus the movie.

Horatio Hornblower DVDs, the complete, 8 volume set.

I'm hoping to have a copy of In Harms' Way soon, as I'd like to review it.  :)

I'm trying to find out about Promethean, but no one has noticed my request for information in the thread where you don't know anything about the game in question...

Nebuleon is something I'm looking at, seriously, but haven't purchased yet.

Burning Wheel looks interesting, but still nada from me.

(Whoa, this is turning into more of a "wanna buy" than "have bought" post...)

My GenCon list is too giant to post, but I also like Qin a great deal.

I bought myself Iron Gauntlets for my birthday and it is awesome.

I bought a bigass dragon toy for 8 bucks because I'm too cheap to get one of Wizard's new gigantic minis.

I'm right there with you.  I balk at that price tag, cool as they look.

Chronicles of Ramlar does some neat things--picked that up at Gen Con.  Also picked up all the dungeon wall pieces I will need for the rest of my days for next to nothing from Dagoom--they had a crazy backstock clearance sale going on at Gen Con.

Actually bought it again.   Had it, sold it to a friend who really wanted it and then recently rebought it.

Going to port Serenity to D6 as I was not thrilled with the mechanics in the MWP version.  Once I am done I am going to sell of my Serenity Core book and get it out of my collection and use D6 Space from then forward to do Firefly/Serenity.
