This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

This fellow.

Let's everybody act shocked that the guy behind eco-terrorist Werewolf is wearing a tie-dyed shirt and carrying a hippie drum.

Which is unfortunate, because of all WW's old games, I find Werewolf had the best potential for balls-out, full throttle, fucking metal gameplay. If it weren't saddled with the Storyteller system.
Heroism is no more than a chapter in a tale of submission.

Wasn't there a GURPS version?  Or is that just wishful thinking?

Some sort of proof for that claim would be nice, though, since offhand comments like "you know, I really wouldn't be surprised if..." or "just look at that photograph" or "that's why Nobilis doesn't have 'Rebecca' on the cover" might not be considered conclusive evidence. And even if it is true, she has every right to keep the information to herself, to be revealed when and if she chooses to.

Oh boy, GURPS! :headache:

One thing Werewolf doesn't need is more combat crunchiness. Or a way for Metis to be secret code for "free points for buying up Rage!". YMMV.

GURPS hand-to-hand combat isn't _that_ crunchy. It's a little fiddlier than nWoD, but less so than Exalted. I once played GURPS Vampire a little and it went well during play. Character creating is a bitch, but that's what you get when you use a non-segmented point buy system.

Actually, the mechanics bit that mostly bothered me was that GURPS 3 is way deep in the katana-wanking territory.

Mr. Analytical

Those physical mechanics exercises featuring electrons tied together with elastic spinning down a well are less crunchy than Exalted.

*shrug* Makes no smacks to me, I just didn't know that -- rumor or not.  I mean, if it's public, I'd never heard it.  If it's rumor, I'd never heard it.

Pundit, thanks for the Mea Culpa.

As to the matter of R.S. Borgstrom's past, present, or future gender, I simply cannot imagine it would be relevant to any useful discussion in this forum.  I'd prefer if we let the matter drop.

No, dude, it's Jerry Springer time!  I'm takin' off my shirt but leaving my tie on!

Oh, wait.  No tattoos.  I am disqualified.  What, ah, what were you saying about the rainforest, again...? Ah, yes!  Umn, around 1.1 x 10^11 metric tons of carbon I believe, but would that be enough for the turbines over a three-day burn?

It was a joke.  I decided to run with it because some guy was taking it seriously, but this is getting out of hand.

But what of black-power capoeirista Dennis Newsome's Jailhouse Rock work with Mel Gibson?  There are levels of interaction here we're only beginning to grasp.

Let me be clear in what my linking the photos intended:

To mock the looks and style of writers who are full of pretentiousness about looks and style. Apart from that, I am basically with Jeff: I can imagine no good things coming out of discussing anybodies gender or private sexlife.

Still, Borgstrom played a gender-switch game as a game author, which I think a debate over has it´s merits. There was confusion, which was intended, if they are even the same person. It was a move to generate curiosity. If people then try to find out what´s going on, it was intended from the start. You can be secretive about almost anything, if you choose to. Or you can relish in people trying to find out. Maybe the gender-switch game on RPG covers was a deliberate act to generate interest in a matter not directly connected with the hobby. Maybe the nameswitch is a political statement. As such, it can be discussed.

I like my RPG products mostly free of non-RPG agendas.
