This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

As a general anecdote of how functional the Miracle system is, I've adapted it for my modern occult Monster Hunter game, and my Catholic player; who is roleplaying a Deacon with Lay on Hands, thought they were all presented quite well.

"When every star in the heavens grows cold, and when silence lies once more on the face of the deep, three things will endure: faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these is love."

- First Corinthians, chapter thirteen.

That's great! I love when people use my stuff in that way.

Love these types of videos, this and the character creation etc, It helps me wrap my head around the game better than just reading it.

It's funny, I was rewatching the video this afternoon before going to evening church and I caught your mention, while talking about making a pact, of someone saying something about "why wouldn't everyone make a demon pact" ... That has to be the most modern/post-modern idea I've herd. IF you are taking the premise of historical authentic (prayer is real miracles are real angles are real demons are real etc) the making of a pact automatically sends you to hell. Skip go, do not collect $200, you die get ready to be someone Daunte mentions in his comedy, no questions asked. A post modern mind skips that part of the equation.

Now, I'm not saying that should not be part of a setting like this. In my girls' Delta Green / Call of Cathluhu game, I'm always dropping little bits of temptation for them. So far, they have all avoided it. Why, because they know it leads to insanity eventually, but the temptation is there for them to maybe one day give into. Just like it should be there in a historical authentic game. Can it give you a short cut to power yes, is there a cost yes, is it worth it, weigh out your soul and see !
