This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I get as far as that fake intro claiming the game was around back in the 70s before D&D... and then the urge to punch whomever thought that was ha-ha funny in the face stops me there and thats as far as I ever get. It is though not a full blown D&D rip-off at least like certain others. If it werent for that damn intro I'd probably like it. But as is. I despise it and no one I've shown it too liked that bit either.

This kids is how you can totally turn someone off your product right out the gate.

I find it as funny as the "what if the first rpg was inspired on Conan, superheroes, etc" that others have wrote in their games. I still haven't played it but not because of the intro but lack of time/group and the difficulty of having both at the same time.

Here is why this forum tends to be so stupid. Many people here think Joe Biden is "The Left", when he is actually Far Right and every US republican is just an idiot.

I think the premise is fine, basing it off the Harryhausen movies and probably some Peplum era Hercules as well.

These can be directly downloaded from the Mazes & Minotaurs page, if drivethru is something you don't want to use for whatever reason.

I've run some adventures with both M&M and it's "conversion" Vikings & Valkyries, and they're perfectly playable old-school RPGs. If you're into that gaming style, it would be foolish to give it a pass just because you don't like the presentation.
Obvious troll is obvious. RIP, Bill.

I've been GMing M&M for years and love the game totally. Bummed I haven't had a group wanting to play Vikings & Valkyries yet.

I absolutely love the "wandering isles" format for a drop-in campaign. I've run both one shots and full campaigns with M&M and it's all been awesome.

I run the original M&M...from 1972!!!

No way!  The revised edition is completely better! ha

I don't mind the 'what if' bit.  Sort of a 'light'n up its a game' type of intro.  Pretty darn solid ancient world game, particularly if you already know a decent amount about the period you want to set the campaign.

Brilliantly elegant system and fun to play. Simple and to the point.
