This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: obrynYou see, the thing is - at every conversation point, your solution is to use RC D&D.

No, it really isn't. You have a problem here, deal with it.

Is this your idea of witty repartee?

Not sure I can see the advantage of using 'wit' here.

I don't believe that any version of D&D can claim to be the best RPG system around. I do think that every version of D&D has something about it that makes it worth playing. I also think that in this specific discussion a good fix for the goddam awful 3rd ed grappling rules would be to port over wrestling rules from classic. You'll rarely see me pointing out what can profitably taken from other versions of D&D into classic for the simple reason that its very rare anyone asks.

You seem to have a problem with that. Really, go and deal with it, because thats precisely what it is; your problem.

RC D&D is perfect!  It's you who are flawed, for using a rule book as both the rules and instruction manual for a game!

*dies of shame*

It's unclear how the RC subsystem can be both a perfect fix for perceived problems in D&D 3.x grappling _and_ too fiddly for beginners to understand.
Running
The Pernicious Light, or The Wreckers of Sword Island;
A Goblin\'s Progress, or Of Cannons and Canons;
An Oration on the Dignity of Tash, or On the Elves and Their Lies
All for S&W Complete

You mean, you can't fathom how one part of a book can be quite simple to understand (which WR is), despite that book not being (as a whole) a great introduction to the game? Think about it a while longer, it'll come to you.

I think CabĀ“s RC-evangelism is as annoying as the SAGA shills.

I DO use the RC grapple rules, though. They are very nice for any D&D version.

Thats all I'm saying here.
