This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

For those those who liked old West End Games D6 Star Wars rules.

Personally, I like Mini-Six Bare Bones quite a bit, though it's not perfect.  It speeds up combat, fixes some OP problems with hero points (Force Points in Star Wars) by making them have weaker effects, but more variety of choices.

The downside is a magic system that's not well thought out.  It's easily fixed by just giving the GM more control of difficulty numbers and effectiveness.

If you ever wanted a physical copy, it's now just half price at $5.90.  shipping is likely to be more than that.
I'm glad for you if you like the top selling game of the genre.  Me, I like the road less travelled, and will be the player asking we try a game you've never heard of.

I have it and like it.  If you use it as a toolkit for using with Open D6, I think it's well worth the money.

There's one other book I think is really useful to have if you're an Open D6 player and that's Unbound D6: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/302645/UNBOUND-D6-RolePlaying.  The big innovation it brings is fast adding multiple six sided dice by having them be pass/fail dice.

Between the two books, you get a lot of changes that make it smoother but still feeling like the WEG version.

Terrible idea, overwhelming majority of ttrpg players can't pass Voight-Kampff test.
