Best Jousting Rules You've Seen

Title says it all. Whatever system, whatever criteria you use to judge, what game had rules for jousting (or other tourney events) you liked best.

Chainmail 3rd Edition

Made it up as we went along. Comprised of DEX checks, riding proficiencies and to-hit rolls.

Overly complicated, but fun.

Chivalry and Sorcery 1e. IRRC you picked where you wanted your shield and your aim and then there was a little cross reference chart. So aim for the boss and hold your shield high.

Seconded for C&S but it was 2/3e that I read. Never saw Chainmail.

The only book I own, that I can recall having Jousting rules in it is "Harkwood".

These are essentially the same thing, right? Didn't they both come from the old Castles and Crusades society?

I don't about the latter, but yes Chainmail's system involved picking a attack point and a defensive posture and cross indexing the result.

Chainmail's are actually the only ones I've ever used (and the only thing I ever used Chainmail for)

No, C&S came from two guys* from Edmonton Alberta going to Gen Con and trying to pitch their Chevalier supplement for D&D to TSR and getting laughed out of the booth so they retooled it into its own game and published it through FGU.

Me too. I don't remember if the tournament rules in their full form are actually in the GPC book, I think maybe they are.
