Title: Best Generic System?
Post by: Mcrow on October 11, 2006, 02:41:17 PM
OK, as the first poll was a complete failure on my part here is a new and more complete poll.

pick your favorite generic system and tell us why you like it.

you can choose multiples if you like.

there was a max of 10 items.

hmm, depends on what you consider generic. I can do a lot woth Palladium but it might bt stretching it to call it truly generic. Of course, Mike, you know my most fav is the Iridium System. ;)

And I like JAGS. Ten isn't enough dammit.

Get rid of GURPS.

And now there's no Other. Just because QuestWorlds isn't out doesn't mean you can't generic up the HeroQuest rules.

I'm all difficult like that. Still, an improvement.

No JAGS, no F20, no Iridium, no GDi, no Impresa - heck, no StarCluster! And no Other! Yish! We need polls with 25 options, I can see! :D

oh.......for love of Pete!

you guys are something.:D

pick your favorite from the list or state one that is not on the list if it is your favorite.

I swear, getting you guys to pick a favorite sometimes is like telling my fiancee to pick just one pair of shoes.:D

Ha! I just listed my faves! Beat you to it!

Besides, my wife has assured me that there is nothing on hell or earth that getting another pair of shoes won't cure. :D

Which is why an 'Other (please specify)' style option is usually provided in credible polls. Then I could give a really wierd and not-so-stuble sexually loaded innuendo answer like "right now Burning Wheel is rocking my van till the bong water splashes on the orange shag carpet". :pundit:

Instead now I'm just going to have to pick one. Or abstain.

But not from sex in a van.

P.S. Yes this is a messageboard poll, and therefore never had lick of a chance to be credible. But that isn't the point, now is it? This about the expression of my desires, be they legal or otherwise.

JAGS is cool, but you can't beat GURPS an all of the supplements that happen to have a lot of cool stuf in them no matter what system you play. :)

Shame Fuzion isn't up there, because I'd have voted for it. I think it's slick and fairly scalable.

I said gurps with the provisios that it has some pompous assholes at the top of the ladder, and it needs a vehicle/weapon design system for 4e that's as good as the one for 3e.
