Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

It's not an adventure per se but I really dig the Blackmarsh campaign setting.

Sacrosanct

Do you want actual old modules, or old school clones (like OSRIC, LL, etc)
D&D is not an "everyone gets a ribbon" game.  If you\'re stupid, your PC will die.  If you\'re an asshole, your PC will die (probably from the other PCs).  If you\'re unlucky, your PC may die.  Point?  PC\'s die.  Get over it and roll up a new one.

Depends if you mean free or "free".  If the latter, then almost everything is available...  ;)

Dragonsfoot has an excellent catalogue of free modules with very high production standards. The works of John Turcotte (Gnarleybones) are particularly excellent. Check out Where The Fallen Jarls Sleep and it's sequels. Also noteworthy is Red Tam's Bones which is a fantastic channelling of the vibe of Jonathan Strange andMr Norrelinto a kick arse adventure into the world of Faerie.

For real old school fans there is the massive L4 Devilspawn Len Lakovska's sequel to his Lendore Isle series ( Secret of Bone Hill, Assassins's Knot and Deep Dwarven Delve).

I bet there are still a lot of folks that have never been through Temple of the Frog.  So, I'll provide it as my first suggestion to play with your campaign using any given system for an adventure that takes up the great majority of the concepts that are Dungeons & Dragons.  Supplement II: Blackmoor is still the one freely accessible book of Original D&D.

Yeah, Dragonsfoot has a lot of great stuff.  It's a pity more people don't seem to know about their downloads section.

I also think The Fane of St. Toad is worth getting.

Quite aware of that, but what I'm talking about for the purposes of this thread is any of the following:

-"amateur products" that were never intended for commercial sale
-"professional free product" that was always made as free material by some gaming company (for their website, or whatever)
-or product that was once for commercial sale but the parent company now offers it for free.
