This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Has anyone took this setting and spun it in their own direction?

If so, in what way?

Seems like it had so much potential then collapsed.

Battle Mad Ronin

I read it, but couldn't really take it seriously. Pulp-nazi fighting in outer space should be a fun premise, but the setting never really made its alternate history exciting enough IMO. Also, aliens and pulp rocketships but not a word on Nazi atrocities? Come on man, at least deal with the implications of your material here!

Greentongue

As many threads here and other places have agreed upon, Nazis make the best Enemy.
Detailing atrocities is not required.

Could you explain what "take it seriously" means to you because I'm confused by that statement.

Battle Mad Ronin

I'll try to explain myself. The setting mix some very silly elements, blue skinned humanoid aliens, with some very real bad guys, nazis and communists. The setting never deals with the atrocities commited by both groups however, leaving them as acceptable punching bags. I think that's hard to take seriously. Wanting to have a pulpy setting with rockets and spacemen is fine. Thing is when you bring very real criminals into it you should at least aknowledge the implications.

Agree with this.

This was why I asked about your own "spin".

The question of what would happen if the Martians/Aliens had arrived and humans had gotten their tech right after WW1 seems like something with so much potential.

No Nazis required far as I can tell. A version of them, and other Axis Powers, just make good opponents.
