This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Yeah. Berserk is very character-driven story, where the setting isn't really relevant outside of their adventures

Eh....I don't super see the story of Berserk happening in say the world of Dragonball. I dislike the Berserk setting, and I found the themes behind it pretentious, but I do think its world is important in the sense of tone.

Honestly, you don't need special rules for this stuff. It's just D&D but grimdark... or grimderp if you like.

Just increase the amount of graphic violence and gore in your games, and especially sexual violence towards women and girls. But whatever you do, don't depict sexual violence against men and boys because that could make your group uncomfortable. /sarcasm

Or you could tackle actually mature topics like morality, philosophy, blah blah blah. Gore-porn doesn't equate to maturity, but a child's idea of maturity.

I'm sure you probably heard all this before since it's long cliche now.

People painted Gandalf, Conan, and Deathdealer on their vans for a reason and it wasn't to make their old humanities professor say " Noice!"
D&D isn't Toastmasters. It doesn't need grace, top hats and monocles to be worthy of someone's free time.

And here I was hoping we were talking about an actual Norse style game  ;D

Nah, this is serious animu talkxd

But beeing seriously serious, Berserk is about ultra violence, one can easily leave the sexual violence out of it when playing tabletop rpgs Box. If one would reeealy want to give into that angle, sure. But i doubt the typical players want to hear about this shit while spending their free time on tabletops where they can enjoy their escapism. Berserk is about epic themes, for example Revenge written large, actual Redemption, world changing Magic, yes, psychological Trauma too. Its also about raging against Evil, with the apropriate cost. At least thats how i would want to play/gm it.
