I have to say, gamers are pretty cool, some times.
Legends of Steel; Barbarians of Lemuria Edition has the rules and no pictures or language I found objectionable.
I was tickled pink to be pointed to that.
The rules look straightforward and clean enough to use, though there is a point about advancing characters between adventures that I had to wonder at.  But one flaw is really not bad at all!

Legends of Steel really can be viewed this way.  It's not as if Lin Carter's Lemuria is always perfect too.  I wish the print edition was easier to find, but the pdf is fairly reasonable.

Edit: Now that I look over my electronic copy again, this one still has some flaws, but it is not so bad given the average games that reach publication.  Thanks go to the editors Ryan L. Shelton and James Stubbs.

So now it looks like I might get to see how well it will work on the table.  I have to get a game ready for my local game store owner and a friend of his after chatting about how simple it is.

You might also want to check out Heroes of Hellas which uses the more updated Legendary Edition of BoL. It's more for doing ancient Greece, etc, but there's likely material that can be cribbed to use with the Legends of Steel version.

Except that it doesn't include the rules, so is useless. Too bad so many BoL games are going this way. Fucking stupid idea, considering the rules would add maybe 20 pages if mixed in with the setting stuff.
