This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I have no interest in the game but I sure would like to know how the financials end up working out. I just have no idea how much Viacom/Nickelodeon would charge for licensing of what is one of their most well loved franchises. Nor how much control Viacom will have over the final product.

The thing I dislike about the success of this Kickstarter is its going to give Magpie Games al the woke, SJW clout they will ever need for producing the most successful rpg KS of all time and also cause them to think this success is because of good game design.

I also think a lot of Avatar fans will hate the finished product because it uses PbtA and Avatar Legends is just a Masks reskin. Every facet of AL is Masks so there is nothing original in the game. There is no crunch at all. There isnt even a real Bending power system in AL. It's all pure narrative.

That's actually a damn good point. I think there's going to be a lot of folks.....less than happy with bending powers.

I expect they're spending a pretty penny on advertising too. I've seen ads and sponsors for this pop up in quite a few unexpected places that you never even see WotC advertise.
